ABOUT US
Who We Are
We are the SPJ Albany Chapter that includes UAlbany and the College of St. Rose.
The Nation's most broad-based journalism organization.

The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is a national society that is for those interested in journalism on any scale. This can be from a radio journalism, PR, print journalism, data journalism, broadcast journalism, investigative journalism, and more. The goal of our SPJ chapter is to learn the different formats of journalism and to make connections that will last beyond our time in college. The national chapter offers a lot of benefits for post-graduates, which includes an advantage to being a better job applicant. While we are working with the St. Rose chapter in order to be dedicated to encouraging the free press and stimulating high standards of ethical behavior. While working in the Albany area we will be putting on workshops to learn how to better ourselves and also to learn advise from those who have succeeded in the journalism field already.

Behind the Scenes
CAROLINE BORREGO

President
As president of this new club, I am working on doing more programs to show the people of Albany what SPJ has in store. As a hobby I like to take photographs and have been doing it for about 4 years. After graduation, I will be pursuing a masters degree in childhood education at Pace University.
KYLE FRANK

Secretary
I am heavily involved with the College Republicans in their end of semester debates with the College Democrats on top of being a regular member. The type of Journalism I would like to be a part of is either broadcast journalism or state and local government. If that doesn't work out I would like to pursue becoming a speech writer. I have loved my time being involved with the SPJ so far and look forward to whats to come.
