Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to pay for a SPJ Albany membership?
Yes, by the start of a semester you'll be asked to pay $10 for membership fees. This fixed fee has to be paid every semester until you graduate because as a new group at the university, we are trying to get as much funds as possible.
What's the difference between a SPJ Albany membership and a SPJ National membership?
A SPJ Albany membership is a membership from us if you're a current full-time student at the University at Albany (SUNY), and which you'll pay a $10 membership fee each semester. A SPJ National membership is a membership from SPJ themselves, in which you'll pay a student price of $37.50 for a year.
Is it a must to get a SPJ National membership?
No, it is by choice by the student if they choose to do so. However, it is recommended to become a SPJ National member for its perks! Check their website for more information.
If I'm a member of SPJ Albany, am I automatically a member of SPJ nationally?
No, you are just a member of our club. If you're interested to join SPJ on a national level, check their website.
